Tamshing Travel (“we”, “us”) is a family-run, licensed tour operator based in Thimphu, Bhutan. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it and how we look after it.
1. Information we collect
- When you enquire: your name, email address, country, number of travellers, travel dates, the tours you are interested in and anything you tell us in your message.
- When you book: details needed to arrange your trip, such as passport information and a passport photo for your visa, flight details, dietary requirements and any health or mobility needs you choose to share.
- When you contact us: the messages you send us by email, phone or WhatsApp.
2. How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare your itinerary and quote.
- To apply for your Bhutan visa and pay the Sustainable Development Fee on your behalf.
- To book hotels, guides, transport, flights and activities for your trip.
- To keep in touch with you before and during your journey.
- To keep records required by Bhutanese law, such as accounting and tourism records.
We will not send you marketing messages unless you ask us to, and we never sell your information.
3. Who we share it with
We share only what is needed to arrange your trip, with:
- the Department of Immigration and the Department of Tourism of the Royal Government of Bhutan, for your visa and SDF;
- hotels, homestays, guides, drivers and activity providers you will be travelling with;
- airlines, such as Druk Air and Bhutan Airlines, when we book flights for you.
4. Our website
- Our website does not use tracking or advertising cookies.
- Our website is hosted by Cloudflare. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read and which countries visitors come from. It does not use cookies, does not identify you and does not follow you across other websites.
- When you send our enquiry form, your details pass through Web3Forms, a form service that delivers them to our email address, which is hosted by Google (Gmail). Web3Forms keeps a copy for up to 30 days and does not use it for any other purpose.
- Our fonts are provided by Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers when you visit, which shares your IP address with Google.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as we need it to plan and run your trip, and afterwards only as long as Bhutanese law requires for our records. Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are deleted after two years.
6. Keeping it safe
Only our family members who plan your trip can access your information, and we share it with partners only when your trip requires it.
7. Your rights
You can ask us at any time to show you the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Just email us and we will reply within 30 days.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
