About Tamshing Travel
A warm welcome from our family
We are a family from Tamshing, based in Thimphu, Bhutan. For us, travel is about more than discovering new places — it is about the people you meet, the stories you share, and the connections you make along the way.
When you travel with us, you are more than a guest. You are welcomed by a local network of guides, drivers, homestay families and village hosts whom we know and call friends. Together, we help you experience Bhutan in a more personal, meaningful way.
Tamshing is a village in Bumthang, home of Tamshing Lhakhang, one of Bhutan's oldest temples, and our company proudly carries its name. As a small team, we know each guide and host personally, which lets us share the moments we treasure most: a seat at a family's hearth, a quiet morning with a monk, or a festival enjoyed beside the villagers who celebrate it.
Travelling with us keeps your spending close to home. We work directly with family-run homestays, farmhouses, local cooks and artisans, so your visit supports livelihoods in the communities you meet and helps keep Bhutan's traditions alive.
